FAQ

About us

Who supervises the teaching quality?
Our teachers are supervised by Moyra, our Head of Studies, an accredited DELE examiner for the Instituto Cervantes (A1, A2, B2). She is also a methodologist and trains regularly with institutions such as ELE Internacional, Instituto Cervantes, ProfeDeELE, Universidad de Salamanca and Editorial Edinumen.

Which variety of Spanish do you teach?
Our teachers come from Mexico, Ecuador and Colombia, and our school is based in Spain. There is no single "correct" Spanish — you'll learn to understand and be understood across the Spanish-speaking world, which is what actually happens when you travel or work in the language.

Booking and payment

Can I have a free trial class?
Yes, a free 20-minute session. Book it from the button at the top of any page. If none of the available times work for you, email us and we'll find one.

How do I pay?
By bank transfer. Half at the start of the semester and half at the midpoint, or pay in full and get 7% off. Invoices available on request.

When do courses start?
Semesters run September to February and February to June, plus intensive courses in July and August.

Can I join mid-semester?
Yes. Write to us and we'll find the group that fits your level and schedule.

Can I choose my teacher?
Yes, subject to availability each semester and to your schedules matching. We'll help you find the best fit.

What if my group doesn't fill up?
If we can't form a group at your level and preferred time, we'll offer you the closest alternative — a different time slot, a smaller group at the corresponding price, or a place in the next semester. You won't be charged until a group is confirmed.

About the classes

What level of Spanish do I need to join?
You can join from level zero. Our teachers adapt to your current level, whether you're a complete beginner or refining advanced skills.

How are the classes conducted?
Online via Zoom, with a dedicated teacher and a strong emphasis on speaking from day one. A microphone is required. Free trial calls take place on Google Meet — no download needed.

How long are the classes?
Each class lasts 55 minutes.

In what language are the classes conducted?
Primarily in Spanish from day one. English is used occasionally when needed, but our method focuses on deduction rather than translation, so you build confidence faster.

What time zone are the classes scheduled in?
Central European Time (CET), based on Spain.

Can I focus on specific topics, like business Spanish or travel?
Absolutely. We'll match you with the teacher best suited to your goals.

Do you teach children?
We teach students aged 10 and up, as well as adults, adapting the lessons to each age group.

Levels and progress

How do I know which level I'm in?
In your free trial call you'll have a one-to-one session with our Head of Studies, who will assess your level and recommend the right course.

Can I get a certificate?
Yes. At the end of your course you can request a certificate stating the level completed and the number of hours, issued by Escuela Nativo and signed by our Head of Studies, an accredited DELE examiner. It is not an official Instituto Cervantes diploma — for that you would take the DELE exam, which we can prepare you for.

Are materials included?
All class materials are provided free. Depending on your level, a specific textbook may be required — we'll tell you in advance.

Attendance and cancellations

What happens if I miss a private class?
Let us know at least 48 hours in advance and we'll do our best to reschedule. You can reschedule up to 30% of your classes per semester. See our Attendance Policy for full details.

What happens if I miss a group class?
If you tell us in advance and your classmates agree, the class will be recorded and you can access it until the end of the month.

What if my group changes during the semester?
Your price and your weekly slot stay the same until the end of the semester. Classes are always 55 minutes, whether your group has two students or six — fewer classmates simply means more speaking time for you. Prices are reviewed at the start of each new semester based on group size.

Can I cancel before the semester ends?
Yes, with one month's written notice by email. Unused classes are refunded minus a 50% administrative fee, since your slot and teacher were reserved for the full term.
